The program was a hit: over $500,000 was raised, and thanks to the donations of many, 10,000 of these bears were given to children who could use the hug.

This year, they’re repeating the program, but this time the star is Kenny’s little blue-eyed sister “Maye I. Hugyou”, also a huggable, limited-edition 18-inch Gund teddy bear, who will be delivered to children.

So how many of you are glad the 2008 primary season is over, and we have two candidates in Barack Obama and John Mccain?

When the primary season began, a company called Dave’s Gourmet started selling bottles of their famous hot sauce, inviting their customers to buy bottles of hot sauce to voice their vote for their favorite candidates.

Now that the voting is over, these five bottles make up a set that represent the “hottest” candidates as far as purchasers of hot sauce went. Evidently, the Democratic hot sauce buyers got it right with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The Republican hot sauce buyers chose Rudy Guiliani and Ron Paul. United Airlines has teamed up with the American Cancer Society to do something pretty cool.

For every $50 that you donate to the American Cancer Society between now and January 31, 2008 (the Web site says December 31, but you have all of January to do it), you’ll not only be helping the ACS in its fight against cancer, you’ll put the cute little 17″ Gund teddy bear in the hands of a child fighting cancer. In February 2008, bears will be distributed in at least 40 hospitals across the country. With a donation of $250, they’ll also send a complimentary bear to your house (supplies are limited).
